It's time to Rethink Chester!

Maximizing Leadership Development has put out a call to action! This call goes out to all kinds of leaders in and around The City of Chester. The call is sent with a challenge for leaders to respond and accept responsibiity for what Chester has become and what Chester will be.

Writer Frantz Fanon once wrote:

"Every generation must - out of relative obscurity, define, fulfill or betray its mission."

This current generation of Chester leaders - from the youth to the elders, both for-profit and non-profit leaders - are being challenged to raise the bar of what it means to be leaders in Chester.

On June 29, 2018, more than 100 leaders (business owners, faith-based leaders, organizational leaders and others) will come into the historic Courthouse in Chester City to begin a collective process of renewal and sustainability. And to be sure - there will be a process uncovered. A process that will serve as a catalyst for excitement and endurance. This will not be an opportunity for political grandstanding. This will be an opportunity to recommit to strong, effective and lasting leadership in the first city of Pennsylvania.

On this page, we will begin to highlight the leaders and the entities that are saying yes to a new vision and a new process in Chester.

Plan to join us June 29, 2018 and be part of the rise of the city!
The late Joan Sudler talks about Chester's unique culture. Written, produced and directed by Ulysses "Butch" Slaughter,
A Chester Story is a groundbreaking documentary that chronicles the trials and tribulations of Chester's Black community. Segments of the documentary will be shared during "Commitment 365:  the art of leadership."
